Program

Nicholas Ferreri program chair for February introduced Jennifer Edsall of the Capital Area Interfaith Respite & RSVP, celebrating over 20 years of relief for caregivers. She reviewed the program of trained volunteers who relieve home caregivers to get away, run errands, meet with friends and other things to give them a break. Volunteers are always needed. It requires just 2 hours of training and 2-4 hours a week in the homes of the elderly just talking with the people needing care. Contact CARE at (517) 887-6116

A visitor next week… welcome Jessica!

Dear Lansing Kiwanis Officers,

I am planning to attend your meeting next Thursday, Feb 19 at Coscarelli's.

I am a former Key Club President, from Hillsborough High School in Tampa Florida. Our "parent" Kiwanis Club was the Kiwanis of Ybor City, with which I worked closely during my tenure as Key Club President.

That was a long time ago (about 14 years) but I am still a concerned citizen, and an organizer, and I've been increasing active in Lansing on several projects, including Walk and Bike Lansing! (www.walkbikelansing.com

I would love to, at some point, according to your scheduling availability, have a discussion with your group about the project.

In the meantime, I will bring some handouts next week that gives a summary and announces some upcoming events.

Thank you very much, and I look forward to meeting you all next Thursday!

(I’d also like to find out more about how to join. I see your membership brochure, but I’m not sure what the dues are.)

Sincerely,

Jessica Yorko
