Cummings from the MSU Circle K, as well as eight members of the Eastern High
School Key Club including their Officers and Advisor Joe Lubick..
Announcements
Joe Grubbe: I attended
the Feb 19th Lansing Sesquicentennial Committee meeting. Our
involvement will be one day on Labor Day weekend in the Arts and Crafts
tent. The South Lansing Kiwanis Club will be joining us in this activity and
we will probably bring in some youth from other organizations such as the
Key Clubs to assist as well. More details to come.
Bill Maher: There are
again sign-up sheets on the tables for those that can help at the Rummage
Sale on Saturday, March 7, at the Faith United Methodist Church, 4301 S
Waverly Road. The sale starts at 9:00am and items can be brought to the
church on Thursday and Friday of that week from 11:00am to 2:00pm and also
after 5:00pm.
This is the second announcement
of the application for membership from Susan Devon. Susan is with the Board
of Water and Light and her application will be taken up at our
Board of Directors meeting next
Tuesday.
Bob Nelson: Carla has
raised $1,000 for Kids Against Hunger on April 4 when Kiwanis Clubs in
Mid-Michigan will be assembling and shipping 50,000 nutritious meals. A
sheet is going around asking for your donation for this event.
On Friday, March 6, South Lansing
Kiwanis is having a super inter-club. They meet at the Flapjack Restaurant
on S Cedar at 7:30am. Lou, Harold and I are planning to attend, others are
welcome.
I will be interviewed next
Wednesday morning at 7:30am on WILS regarding the Rummage Sale.
The Noon News with
Nicholas Ferreri
You can only get it here… like
the story of a balsamic vinegar thief in Bend, Oregon, and how the birds and
the bees are explained in the electronic age, followed by the weather
forecast of heavy rain tonight and colder and maybe a bit of snow on Friday.
Songs
Lots of quacking and oinking
going on with Bill Maher bravely leading "Old McDonald had a Farm." Comments
were heard after the meeting that Greg Hagbom may have ‘moo mooed’ when he
should have ‘oink oinked.’
Happy Bucks
Larry Pingel, a happy buck
for Bill Maher for keeping us just a little outside our comfort zone.
Chuck Reifsnyder, another
happy buck for my granddaughter Jordyn, who won first place at the Tyson
International Gymnastic meet in Chicago on Sunday. You all saw the article
in the LSJ on Tuesday, it was in all the national newspapers on Monday and
covered live on NBC on Sunday. If you google Jordyn Weiber you will get
16,400 results! It must be the genes.
Bob Nelson, a happy buck for
the Key Club members who will be helping us at Kids Against Hunger in April
4.
Jim Kost, I have 2 happy
bucks for the MSU Circle K Club and the Eastern Key Club, I am a graduate of
both Eastern and MSU.
Rich Librizzi, I have 2 happy
bucks for my twin grandson’s who will be 7 next week.
Clarence Smith, 2 happy
bucks, one for our Key Club and another for the Circle K, great to have you
here.
Ray Easton, a happy buck for
my daughter who recently presented us with a granddaughter.
Nicholas Ferreri, a happy
buck for our Key Clubbers and the Circle K and for Chuck’s granddaughter,
Jordyn, who everyone was watching at the station (NBC) on Sunday.
Program
Nicholas Ferreri led the Key Club
and Circle K members in a discussion of their activities and plans.
Pot Winner
Without ever leaving his seat to
perform on the vault, uneven bars or balance beam, Chuck Reifsnyder won the
Pot. He drew the Ace of Clubs… only a few cards left.
