 Announcements

Carla Johnston: At our April 29th meeting we will be inducting five new members. Try to attend and welcome the new members.

I would also like to mention our Prayer Breakfast last week was very well attended and donations for the Salvation Army amounted to $124. Thank you very much.

Remember we have the Indoor Yard Sale is coming up on April 16 and 17 with setup on April 14 and 15. Volunteers are needed all four days and a sign-up sheet is still available. Bring your donation items for the sale on Thursday and Friday, Apr 14 and 15, after 9:00am. The sale is again at the Faith United Methodist Church, 4301 S Waverly Road.

Bob Nelson has fliers available for your place of business, etc.

Clarence Smith: On Tuesday, April 20, the Past Presidents will meet at 7:30am at the Frandor Flapjack Restaurant to start working on a slate of officers for the next year.

Bill Maher: Bryan Crenshaw has volunteered to be program chairman in May, Trina Pulver in June and Rob Haney in July. That completes our schedule for the year.

Bob Nelson: Next week the speaker will be the Director of MDOT and the following week Clint Canaday from Canaday Law Offices.

The Noon News

Ray Easton brought us the news from around the world including news of a truck accident in California that released it’s load of 8 to 12 million bees.

Happy Bucks

Dick Skinner, a happy buck for everyone that participated in the Prayer Breakfast last week, 74 people attended. Also an unhappy buck for the $25 ticket I got at MSU for parking at a faulty meter.

We honored Miller Perry last week and an interesting note… I spoke to Susie, his daughter, and she told me the man who was Miller’s driver in France during WWII liked Miller so much he joined Kiwanis in France.

Bryan Crenshaw, a happy buck to be put on administrative leave so I get full pay now and another for my nephew who is in Florida with the Holt varsity baseball team.

Larry Pingel, a happy buck for the Tigers win in their season opener.

Bob Nelson, a happy buck for John Roy Castillo and Bob Vogel for hosting us here today.

John Roy Castillo, a happy buck for no joke from Denny next week.

Jim Dalton, a happy buck for John and the lunch today.

Harry Kost, a happy buck for a great season of Spartan basketball.

Program

Program Bob Nelson introduced John Roy Castillo and Bob Vogel who discussed the many programs of the Cristo Rey Community Center which serves people from all ethnic backgrounds in the Lansing area. We were also given a tour of the facility and were truly impressed with many services they provide. See the Cristo Rey Community Center website.
