Carla Johnston announced today was a special day to recognize the outstanding achievements of Harry Kost as a Kiwanis member for nearly 50 years.

Lt Governor Ruth Milbourne told us every Division has several hero’s over the years and today she added Harry Kost for his many accomplishments.

District Governor Joan VanArsdalen noted Harry joined the Lansing Kiwanis Club in 1964. He served as President in 1978/79 and in 1987 he was instrumental in forming the Lansing Golden K. In the same year he was elected Lt Governor of Division 16. In 1994 Harry was given the George Hixon award. Harry was presented a pin for having recruited over 100 new Kiwanis members.

Charles Seeley, from Lansing Golden K, commented on what Harry has meant to that Club from it’s founding to the present.

Jim Heynes, from Detroit No.1, mentioned the work Harry has done at the District level.

Jim Kost, spoke of Harry always being committed to whatever he did, work, church, Kiwanis, husband and father.

Because of time constraints there were no Happy Bucks today, however Bill Maher did have a 50/50 drawing and the winners were Gary Brya and Rob Haney.
