 Announcements

Carla Johnston: Sign-up sheets are again on the tables for the Safety Patrol Picnic next Wednesday, May 19, at Hawk Island Park. We will be grilling hot dogs for the kids, 8:45am to 12:5am. There is a luncheon for the volunteers at the FOP lodge after the picnic.

Bill Maher: There are two sign-up sheets for the Golf Outing on June 7. A sheet for players to sign up, can be a team or individuals. Another sheet to sign up anyone that is willing to help, such as your spouse. We need volunteers, probably 15 or more. Volunteers will receive a shirt so we need their shirt size.

Coming on June 5 is the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon. We will be presenting a check to them at the 10 o’clock hour. We need 8-10 volunteers and they should plan to be there by 9:30am.

The Young Children Priority One Committee will meet here next Thursday, May 20, at 11:30am.

Larry Pingel: I mentioned last week I would check into a bus trip to Detroit for a Tiger game. Dean Trailway’s has offered a special rate on Aug 20 or Aug 21 for $75. This includes transportation to and from Detroit and a $52 ticket to the game. Seats are between home and 1st base. We need at least 40 people and it appears that would not be a problem. The games are with Cleveland at 7:05pm.

Jo Grubbe: Deb, our caterer, has asked me to announce a Roaring 20’s fundraiser the Eagles are putting on for Parkinson’s disease on May 15, from 7:00pm to 11:00pm. Music by the Eastern HS band, a $10 donation is required, food is included.

Bob Nelson: The Youth Services and Leadership Committee’s met this morning. We are in need of someone to interface with the Builders Club at the Mid Michigan Leadership Academy. Let me know if you are interested in this. On the evening of May 27 Rob Haney and Bryan Crenshaw will be presenting Elizabeth Lowry scholarship awards to two Eastern students who will be going to MSU in the fall. We hope to have Joe Lubick and the 2 students at our meeting that day.

Bob Holden: There are Golf reservation forms on the tables, take some. If there are singles, no problem, we will match them up. We need tee and beverage cart sponsors, check with the people you do business with.

Dick Skinner: The Spiritual Aims Committee will meet next Tuesday, May 18, at the Waverly Rd Flapjack Restaurant at 7:30am.

Songs

Roger Grove rallying the troops with "Take Me Down to Kiwanis" and "On Kiwanis."

Happy Bucks

Carla Johnston, I have a happy buck for the fine job the committee’s are doing.

Bryan Crenshaw, a happy bucks for our speaker, my dog coming home, for Key Leader next weekend, for my nephew’s soccer game and the last one is for "Relay for Life."

Bill Maher, a happy buck for my sixth grandchild, Evelyn Grace, who arrived on Tuesday.

Roger Grove, a happy buck for this old scorecard I found in a drawer from 1999 when I had a 36 on the front nine at Forest Akers.

Ev Beemer, a happy buck to have my wife home from the hospital and another for my grandson who was inducted into the National Honor Society in Indianapolis.

John Haggerty, a happy buck to be here and another for Ele’s Place which needs your support.

Larry Pingel, a happy buck for being selected the top insurance agency in the Midwest to work for. Congratulations… do you have any openings down there?
