Sue Devon: Meeting notes from Tuesday’s board meeting are on the
tables for anyone interested.
Harry Kost: All members are invited to attend a dinner show at
Turkeyville featuring the musical styling’s of Johnny Cash. The event is
July 30th and the cost is $35 per person. Please let Harry know
if you’d like to go.
Larry Pingel: There are still seven tickets available for the
group outing to the Detroit Tigers game on August 21st. If you’d
like to go please contact Larry. If you’ve already signed up to attend
please pay Jo Grubbe for your tickets before August 1st. The cost
again is $75 per person.
Dick Skinner:
The Spiritual Aims Committee will meet on July 21st at the Flap
Jack Shack on Waverly road at 7:30.

Roger Grove, our Pianist Clyde Flore is back.
Clyde Flory, a passing through buck as I am back from six weeks in
Florida but heading north for a couple of weeks at the cottage.
Denny Churchill, Just back from a trip to Austin Texas visiting Daughter
and grandchildren. Austin is a beautiful city and the state capital building
looks much like the one here in Lansing.
Dick Skinner, A update on and apology for not having Rick’s shirt.
Sue Devon, Happy for the recent heat and all the people using power to
keep those air conditioners running a maximum capacity.
Larry Pingel, A happy buck for our newest member Tony.
Program
Today’s chairperson was Rob Haney. Rob introduced today’s speaker Sam
Johnson who is currently serving as president of another local charity
organization Black Man Inc. of Greater Lansing.
Sam presented information on their organizations mission, which is To Save
the Young Men of Lansing.
They currently have more than 20 volunteers mentoring young people in five
different schools throughout the city of Lansing.
They’ve organized a program to: Take a child Christmas Shopping for more
than a decade. And they run a program aimed at being a Salute to Excellence
in various Lansing Schools looking to recognize students who show
improvement as young citizens or as students.
