Guest today of Carla Johnston was her daughter Jamie.

Robert Haney was a guest of Dick Skinner. Mr. Haney is involved with Festival of Trees, an organization that raises money for non-profits and is also on the board of 5 other local charities. He has submitted an application to join our Club.

 Announcements

Bob Nelson: Tomorrow morning at 7:00am at Grumpy's Restaurant I will be meeting with the South Lansing Club to pass to them the Lt Governor's banner. Several of our members will be joining me to for an inter-club. You are all welcome to attend.

The Youth Services Committee will meet here next Thursday at 11:15am. If you are on that committee please plan to attend.

Bill Maher: The Board of Directors will meet next Tuesday, Oct 6, 12 noon at Grumpy's Restaurant, Mt Hope and Pennsylvania.

Installation of Officers

Ruth Milbourne, newly elected Lt Governor of Division 16, presented Clarence Smith with a pin for his service as President of our Club for the past year. Ms Milbourne also presided over the installation of the newly elected Officers and Board members.

From Facebook... today Kiwanis International is installing their new President Paul Palazzolo replacing outgoing President Don Canaday. In other news, a lady fried and ate her former common law husband's goldfish after a dispute.

Bob Nelson, doing what he can to help the Tigers win their division, led the singing of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and "Smile."

Happy Bucks

Larry Pingel, a happy buck for the President of our Club in 1987, the last time the Tigers won a pennant... another for the outgoing Officers and Board members.

Jim Kost, a happy buck for Clarence who we will be honoring at our Past Presidents dinner at the Hall of Fame Cafe on Oct 21 at 6:00pm. Past Presidents mark your calendars.

Jo Grubbe, a happy buck for our new officers and another for Ev Beemer who was President when the Tigers last won a pennant in 1987.

Ruth Milbourne, a happy buck for the honor of installing your officers today and for my good friend Bob Nelson for the help he has given me in taking on the duties of Lt Governor.

Bob Nelson, a happy buck for Clarence and the outgoing officers for a fine job this past year and also best of luck to Ruth and Carla in the coming year.

Lance Lynch, a happy buck for Ruth because someone in our high school class did well.

Carla Johnston, a happy buck to have my daughter here today to meet all you people and for Bob, Clarence and the outgoing officers for their service in the past year.

Terry Holzhausen, a happy buck for Carla in her new job and Clarence, thank you very much.

Harry Kost, a happy buck for a nice train trip to California and a second happy buck for the membership application I have here for Darren Duso. Let's ask and get our 3 new members for Carla.

Clarence Smith, a happy buck for Carla, she will do a fine job in the next year and another one for allowing me to be your President this past year. I enjoyed it, it was a great experience and I appreciate your support.

Program

Clarence Smith, October program chairman, introduced Jarrod Barren and Justin Zeller from Lansing Teen Challenge. Lansing Teen Challenge is a faith based organization dedicated to helping men and women overcome life-controlling issues such as alcoholism and drug abuse. Mr. Barren commented on their programs and the facilities they have available in this effort.
