Announcements
Bob
Nelson: The dictionaries have arrived and are in the back of the
room. There are copies of your school assignments on the tables. They are
also posted on the web site... click here >>
School
Assignments.
The numbers for each school may not be accurate so take a few extra and
bring back what you don't need.
Call to
arrange deliveries, some schools may experience conflicts with MEAP testing
and the flu but we hope to get the deliveries completed in the next couple
of weeks.
Jim
Dalton: Please mark your calendars for next Nov 23/24/25. Those
are our next Texas Hold 'em nights at Trippers. Those of you who worked
there in Sept know this is pretty easy duty, much less involved than were
our Las Vegas nights. The shifts were a bit long r so we are planning to
have 3 shifts each day instead of 2. We will need to get a few more people
involved. Nov 23/24/25, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
Dennis
Churchill: I cut out an article that appeared in the Lansing
State Journal regarding some activities of the Okemos Kiwanis Club. I am
passing it around. I would hope we can get this type of publicity for our
Club.
Terry
Holzhausen: I would like the Endowment Fund Trustees to meet
here next Thursday at 11:15am.
Carla
Johnston: Nicholas Ferreri has asked me to announce the
Leadership Program Committee will meet
here at 11:30am next Thursday.
Sue Devon:
The Community Services Committee met today and approved $100 to be used by
the Membership Committee at the Festival of Trees for the membership drive.
Thank you very much for that support.
Rick
Librizzi: Good News! After undergoing several tests in Ann Arbor
yesterday... they told me to come back in a year.
Jim Kost:
On behalf of the Past Presidents and the members of the Club I would like to
present this plaque to Clarence Smith for the outstanding work he did as
President of the Kiwanis Club of Lansing in the past year.
Congratulations Clarence!

Welcome
to the Kiwanis Club of Lansing!

No piano

Happy
Bucks
Jim
McCartney, a happy buck for Darren Duso and Fluke Hearing who provided
hearing aids at now cost to the daughter of one of my employees with a
hearing deficit.
Ray
Easton, a happy buck for the new members and another for the great job
Clarence did last year.
Jim Kost, a happy buck for Clarence and one for the Past Presidents
dinner last evening.
Sue Devon,
I have 3 happy bucks, one for each of our new members.
Dennis
Churchill, one happy buck for the new members and the second one because
I had to miss the Past Presidents dinner last night.
Jo Grubbe,
I also have one for our new members and another for our little party last
night. You know you have to be President before you can get invited.
Jim
Dalton, I have one for our long suffering editor. Thank Goodness for
correcting the bulletin every week.
Bob
Nelson, a happy buck for Glenn Mulder and his wife for stamping all the
dictionaries. They got a free lunch but it is really a down payment for his
gas we will be using when fishing in January.
Harry Kost,
I have 2 happy bucks, one for each of my new members.
Dick
Skinner, I have one for my new member Robert Haney and another for the
Past President's Club as we say goodbye to Clarence and hello to Carla.
Glenn
Mulder, I don't have a happy buck but I have a birthday check since I
was not able to be here for the birthdays last month.
Terry,
I have a couple bucks... just because everybody is so happy.
Roger
Grove, I am going to bill this happy buck to Dennis. I saw a picture of
he and his very lovely wife in a prominent magazine this morning. I think he
should cough up a buck for that.
Program
Clarence
Smith introduced his last speaker for October, Steve Trecha. Mr. Trecha is a
consultant to companies worldwide. He is also a Boy Scout leader, having won
