 Announcements

Carla Johnston: The Board of Directors monthly meeting is next Tuesday noon at Grumpy’s Restaurant, Pennsylvania and Mt Hope.

Keep in mind the Rummage sale is March 19th and 20th,, at the Faith United Methodist Church, 4301 S Waverly Road. They will be setting up and receiving sale items on March 17th and 18th. We will have a sign-up sheet next week. This year we will also be required to clean up after the sale.  Bryan Crenshaw advises the Goodwill will pick up any unsold merchandise.

March 12 is our Spring Divisional meeting, this year being held at the Kellogg Center. Last year we had a really good turnout, so let’s do it again and show how strong our Club is. Registration begins at 5:00pm, banquet at 6:00pm.

Sue Devon: Our membership drive “Bring a Friend to Lunch” is next Thursday. Please sign up and bring somebody to our meeting, we would like to expand our membership. Peter Lark, General Manager of the Board of Water and Light will be our speaker.  A sign-up sheet is being circulated so we can give our caterer a count for lunch.

Bryan Crenshaw: We are continuing efforts to establish a Circle K at Cooley Law School.  Carla and I are hoping to help some students with their registration costs to the District Circle K Convention which will be here in Lansing. We are planning a pizza party and also possibly a family night at the Cooley Law School ball park.

I also brought some materials on Haiti Relief for you to take a look at. We have some thoughts on what we might do there.

The last thing is I will be joining the Key Club District Board and will again be a zone advisor.

Greg Hagbom: Norm and I visited Miller Perry at Sparrow Hospital on Saturday.  He is feeling better after having pneumonia and expects to be going back to rehab for his back problems. We had a good visit with him and his daughter Susie who spends a lot of time with him. He is on the 8th floor at Sparrow and happy to have visitors.

Songs

Bob Nelson, with the very able piano accompaniment of Clyde Flory, led the singing of “Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “Smile.”

$ Happy Bucks $

Larry Pingel, I have happy buck for the Rathbun Insurance Agency which is in first place for the Susan Coleman “Race for Cure” on Apr 25 with McCartney and Associates in second place. I have never asked for money but I am asking you to sponsor me to walk in this race.  If you write down your name and make a donation remember it is tax deductable and will keep us ahead of Jim.

Note: The more we donate the faster Larry will have to walk.

Bryan Crenshaw, I have 3 happy bucks, one for our guest, the second one to be able to serve on the Key Club District Board and the last one is for a good report from my cardiologist on Saturday.

Jim Kost, I have a happy buck for a visit with my Mom and Dad at Gulf Shores.  They are doing well and Dad said he will be here at our meeting on March 25.

Jim McCartney, last year the firm was in first place in the “Race for Cure” and the secret was one of our staff was able to get a check for $500.

Chuck Reifsnyder, a happy buck for some good news.  After having to have a cat scan every 6 months for the last 5 years, on Tuesday my oncologist told me I don’t need  anymore.

Clyde Flory, a happy buck for a change in our schedule brought about by our oldest grandson who plays in the Grand Rapids Forest Hills High School Band. The band has been invited to play in London, England.

Gary Brya, a happy buck for my brother-in-law who was ill and staying with us for 3 months. He is going back home so we are leaving for Florida on Monday.

Bill Maher, I have a happy buck for Jason, thank you for coming and also a happy buck for our speaker today Lt. Roger Lewis.

Jo Grubbe, I have a happy buck for Jason and I think it is wonderful when someone steps up looking for a way to serve the community.

Terry Holzhausen, I also have a happy buck for Jason and hope he will be joining us.

Bob Holden, I have a happy buck to be able to make a contribution and make Larry walk.

Program

Today’s speaker Lt. Roger Lewis was introduced by program chairman Bill Maher.  Lt Lewis is with the Ingham County Sheriff’s Department and is the Jail Supervisor.
