February 26, 2009 Meeting
Visiting today was Ashley Malmsten,
Governor of the Michigan District Circle K International, Eve Cummings from the
MSU Circle K, as well as eight members of the Eastern High School Key Club
including their Officers and Advisor Joe Lubick..
Announcements
Joe Grubbe: I attended
the Feb 19th Lansing Sesquicentennial Committee meeting. Our involvement will be one day on Labor Day
weekend in the Arts and Crafts tent. The
South Lansing Kiwanis Club will be joining us in this activity and we will
probably bring in some youth from other organizations such as the Key Clubs to
assist as well. More details to come.
Bill Maher: There are again sign-up sheets on the tables
for those that can help at the Rummage Sale on Saturday, March 7, at the
This is the second announcement of
the application for membership from Susan Devon. Susan is with the Board of Water and Light
and her application will be taken up at our
Board of
Directors meeting next Tuesday.
Bob Nelson: Carla has
raised $1,000 for Kids Against Hunger on April 4 when
Kiwanis Clubs in Mid-Michigan will be assembling and shipping 50,000 nutritious
meals. A sheet is going around asking for your donation for this event.
On Friday, March 6, South Lansing
Kiwanis is having a super inter-club.
They meet at the Flapjack Restaurant on S Cedar at 7:30am. Lou, Harold
and I are planning to attend, others are welcome.
I will be interviewed next Wednesday
morning at 7:30am on WILS regarding the Rummage Sale.

Jordyn, who won first place at the Tyson International Gymnastic meet in
Bob Nelson, a happy buck for the Key Club members who will be
helping us at Kids Against Hunger in April 4.
Jim Kost, I have 2 happy bucks for the MSU Circle K Club and
the Eastern Key Club, I am a graduate of both Eastern
and MSU.
Rich Librizzi, I have 2 happy bucks for my twin grandson’s who
will be 7 next week.
