An inter-club, four members of the Mason Kiwanis Club were visiting today.

 Announcements

Rick Librizzi: Sept 10th is a significant day in my life, 49 years ago today Mrs. Librizzi decided to marry me. Congratulations to the Librizzi's!

Clarence Smith: As you know Bob Holden is in charge of program chairmen for the next year and he is having a difficult time getting all the months filled.  They should all be done by Oct 1st and there are still several months open including November.  We also need program chairmen for May, June, July and Sept. The sign-up sheet is available again today, if we don't get it filled we may have to roll the dice at the next Board meeting.

We had a beautiful day at the Laborfest on Saturday and made lots of kids happy with the activities provided by the area Kiwanis Clubs.  The Kiwanis name was prominently displayed on the signs provided by Jeff Lorencin and I would like to thank all who came down and helped.

Dennis Churchill presented a check for $250 to Salvation Army Capt Brian Davis for the chapel renovation at their facility on Pennsylvania Ave.  Capt Davis expressed his appreciation for the long standing support Kiwanis has given the Salvation Army.

The Noon News with Nicholas Ferreri

Nicholas with his interesting and unusual news stories and a forecast of more pleasant  days in the 70's coming up.

Songs

The talented people were back today, Roger Grove and Clyde Flory, leading the singing of "God Bless Our Native Land" and "Grand Old Flag."

Happy Bucks

Bob Nelson, a happy buck for those who helped Saturday at the Lansing 150 LaborFest and also for those helping at Tripper's Texas Hold 'em. With the money wheel Saturday we now have the kids interested in gambling.  Our next Texas Hold 'em dates are Nov 23, 24 and 25.

Roger Grove, this first happy buck is to help the patients of the mentally impaired and the second one if for the knee replacement I had a month ago.  My doctor was Brian McCardel, who did a great job and it's nice to be walking around.

Clyde Flory, I have a very distressing dollar, our favorite daughter-in-law has been diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia.

Dennis Churchill, I have a happy buck, one that I won at the Bellagio in Las Vegas last weekend. We had a great time and were asked to come back.

Bill Maher, I have an inquisitive dollar for Roger, my wife also goes to Dr McCardel and she has 3 or 4 appointments a week.

Jo Grubbe, a hallelujah dollar for the completion of the LaborFest.  Clarence and I attended many meetings over  many months.  We all had a great time, the money wheel was the most popular thing we did and making bracelets was next.

Program

Dennis Churchill was program chairman for this week and introduced speaker Capt Brian Davis from the Salvation Army.  Capt Davis commented on his background, his work as administrator and pastor at their Pennsylvania facility and the fact his wife Major Lisa Davis outranks him.

Pot Winner

Bill Maher said it was only fitting, since he won a lot of money from Glenn Mulder on the golf course Wednesday, that Glenn was the Pot winner today.  Glenn's draw... a 9 of Clubs.
