Announcements
Larry Pingel: 16 past Presidents attended the dinner last week
showing their appreciation for the service Jim Kost
provided our Club as President in the past year.
Richard Skinner: I will read you a very nice thank-you letter which I
received from the mother of Danielle Farnsworth, the winner of our Julius Fischbach Scholarship Award.
I would also like to present this
cap to Miller Perry which he left
behind last spring in his haste to get to his summer home in Pennsylvania.
Clarence Smith: I have passed out
the budgets to the committee chairmen.
As mentioned previously there are some cuts in the budgets. The Board has voted on this and decided we
cannot spend beyond our income. For now
I am asking you to abide by the Board’s decision and stay within these
guidelines. Hopefully by spring we will have come up with some fund raising
ideas and the budgets can be readjusted.
Songs
Time constraints only allowed time
for Roger Grove to lead the singing
of “Smile.”
Happy Bucks
Jim McCartney, a happy
buck for next week when I will be in Dubai and
the week following when I will be in England.
Larry Pingel, As promised last spring I’ll give a happy dollar for every Tiger win
this season, so here is my check for $74.
Bill Maher, I have an apologetic buck for Larry
Pingel to whom I failed to award a
perfect attendance certificate even though he is on my list. You will receive it next week.
Chuck Reifsnyder, a happy buck this week not for a
granddaughter but for my wife, we are celebrating our 58th wedding
anniversary this week.
Greg Hagbom, I have a happy buck for Clarence and the Board who have decided to do
something we hope the presidential winner will do… not spend more money than
they take in.
Norm Miller, I am going to one-up Chuck… Nina and I celebrated our 59th
anniversary last week by going out to dinner, attending a concert and a play.
Jim Kost, I have 2, one for our
speaker Bob Johnson and the other for the MSU/OSU game on Saturday and a
Spartan win.
Roger Conrad, I have 5 happy dollars for the successful Crop Walk last Sunday. We had 6
of our members helping out, 400 walkers and the donations are coming in very
well.
Jo Grubbe, I have a happy buck for an old old friend who
I happened into at the Crop Walk last Sunday and after spending some time with
her she is interested in joining Kiwanis.
